Context
Motokaa is a car marketplace — explore, rent, buy, or sell — built to make browsing a large inventory feel fast and effortless.
The problem
A marketplace lives or dies on its browsing feel: a big, varied inventory has to stay fast, legible, and easy to move through on any device, from first glance to enquiry.
Approach
A Next.js marketplace (TypeScript, Tailwind, HeadlessUI) with rich listings over a curated fleet, with dynamic car photography from the CarImages API — in a clean flow from explore to enquiry, tuned to feel quick and considered rather than cluttered.
Securing it
A straightforward marketplace done cleanly rather than a security showcase — but with one deliberate touch: car images come through a fully server-side proxy that signs the CarImages request (API key and secret in server-only headers) and streams back just the image bytes, so no key, secret, or upstream URL ever reaches the browser. Plus the usual hygiene: input validation on search and safe handling of enquiry flows.
